Who do you believe?

Well having written my last blog, blow me down, up popped this; http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11462595

It appears that nearly all of Europe is now a no-go area, due it seems to terrorist threats. Not that anything has happened but I am told there are good reasons to believe that they might. It seems to me that the terrorists have already won this round without even doing anything.

Mind you, with all this publicity they are almost duty bound to have a go; a sort of self-fulfilling prophesy. They can’t loose really. Only we can.

Today everyone I have spoken to is sick of all this spin and worry.

Where, they ask, is this information coming from? All of a sudden it’s headline news, the next day it’s gone, nowhere to be found. What’s it all about and by the way whatever happened to swine flu? Oops! Sorry, I forgot it’s due again next year. Ok, how about mad cow, bird flu, asteroids, giant waves, massive earthquakes, sunspots or Abba making a come back, all these imminent disasters have their 15 minutes and then dissolve back into the ether. I didn’t mention WMD’s ‘cos that’s too easy.

What these reports do is keep us in a state of worry and tension, or maybe more importantly distract us from what is really happening.

Remember “It’s a good day to bury bad news”? I do.

Can someone explain to me why a suicide bomber can drive his truck into a crowd and get an easy result in their own country but when they come over here in the west they feel the need to blow up a plane which seems altogether much harder?

One feels there is more to the matter than we are told. Mind you, I am getting on a bit so maybe I have missed something.

Well, now I am fed up too. I don’t know who or what to believe but I am going to do something about it and if you feel up to it I could do with your help.

We can do something simple and gentle that can change the world.

If you don't read this

I have just been looking at the news and over the last few day there have been quite a few
"non- terrorist" events happenings. It seems like the media are building up the suspense and when and if something happens -"well, you were warned".

I have 61 years under my belt. Not saying that this huge amount of time has given me any claim to wisdom because it hasn't - I'm still as mad as a box of frogs as I always have been. If anything I have increased my birthright. But I still have a memory, just, and as the saying goes: I've heard geese fart before.

I am not saying that things won't happen, but in those 61years there has been a constant stream of fear generating stuff that might happen, so much so that you start to wonder.

From big things to little, I know fear helps to sell everything from insurance to deoderant.
" Even your best friend won't tell you." Remember that one?
"God, if I don't buy........ I might stink and not know it 'cos no one will tell me!"

Fear, since time immomorial, has been used to control and coerce. It works well as it is very contagious and after a while it becomes self-perpetuating.

It is so easy to listen to something you would not normaly listen to if you are frightened.
And when I say frightened I don't mean terrified I just mean that low-grade fear, the back ground fear we have learned to live with. Then we listen and if the ground work has all been done well enough, we believe a little and compromise, just for our peace of mind. After all, if you have nothing to hide what does it matter!!!

Of course our leaders and the powers-that-be would never do such a thing, after all we voted them in? What about then: If you don't join our club you can go and stay at Old Harry's for ever- and this is how bad it is. But stick with us and you will be alright. Or even: If you don't use my kind of Reiki you will be missing out on the real thing! Big things or little, fear is a powerful tool. It has even been know for countries to go to war because of it.

It is so very hard not to get drawn into the web of fear and hate. It is so easy when we do to band togethter and blame someone else some other group. To make them the reason stuff is happening. Easy. especial if the propegander is to an extent true even if it has been emgeneed to be that way.

It is so hard to get good unbiased infomation> The internet? A great place to get good information. True and an even better place to promote disinformation. Sorry but you are on your own.

Oh dear me, doom and gloom ...! No it's not. Life is just fine and on the whole safe, it just helps if you have a game plan of your own.

Tomorrow (give or take a bit) I will tell you mine 'cos I just looked at the time and I'm late for lunch and if you know my feeder... you would be frightened too. Control in action.

Just one last thing before I go. Why are you reading this blogg? All I had said was
if you don't read this you will never know... Maybe just a little fear that you might be missing out on something.

The Mayonnaise Jar.

The net went down the other day and unable to do what I wanted to, I fiddled, clearing out all the junk files I had collected over time. In one file I found the piece I have attached below. Don't know who sent it to me or where it came from but I like it. So here it is as it was sent, thanks.

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle,
When 24 hours in a day is not enough;
remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class
and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, wordlessly,
he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
and start to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
it into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again

if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand
and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded
With an unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table
and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively
filling the empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things - Family,
children, health, friends, and favorite passions
Things that if everything else was lost
and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else --
The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued,
'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for the things that are
important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play with your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time
to clean the house and fix the dripping tap.

'Take care of the golf balls first --
The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand
and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled.

'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

Aspartame

This is something I have been watching for some years now...As with everything it is hard to find unbiased information. There is so much information and dis-information... How do you know what is true???

This is a hard question, and it is something I wonder about. In the end it comes down to choice: my choice, your choice.

In a previous blog I gave the three question method of arriving at an answer. It works for me.

I feel, even if you know a thing is true, it is a good idea to keep the mind open .... often you find that it might not be as true as you thought it was. Never be afraid to admit it. It's so easy to compound the problem. As someone once said:
"Positive"... to be mistaken at the top of your voice... Been there!!!

Anyway here is something I think is worth looking at. I had personal experience with this with regard to my grand son.

Here is an email I received the other day The person who wrote it feels strongly about the subject, as do I, but it does not mean it is true or I am right. This email, although emotive sets out the problem which I hope will give you a starting place for your understanding and research into Aspartame.

SWEET POISON

In October 2001 my sister started getting very sick. She had stomach spasms and she was having a hard time getting around.. Walking was a major chore...It took everything she had just to get out of bed; she was in so much pain.

By March 2002, she had undergone several tissue and muscle biopsies and was on 24 various prescription medications. The doctors could not determine what was wrong with her. She was in so much pain, and so sick she just knew she was dying.

She put her house, bank accounts, life insurance, etc...in her oldest daughter's name, and made sure that her younger children were to be taken care of.

She also wanted her last hooray, so she planned a trip to Florida (basically in a wheelchair) for March 22nd.

On March 19 I called her to ask how her most recent tests went, and she said they didn't find anything on the test, but they believe she had MS.

I recalled an article a friend of mine e-mailed to me and I asked my sister if she drank diet soda?

She told me that she did. As a matter of fact, she was getting ready to crack one open that moment.

I told her not to open it, and to stop drinking the diet soda! I e-mailed her article my friend, a lawyer, had sent. My sister called me within 32 hours after our phone conversation and told me she had stopped drinking the diet soda AND she could walk!

The muscle spasms went away. She said she didn't feel 100% but, she sure felt a lot better.

She told me she was going to her doctor with this article and would call me when she got home.

Well, she called me, and said her doctor was amazed! He is going to call all of his MS patients to find out if they consumed artificial sweeteners of any kind. In a nutshell, she was being poisoned by the Aspartame in the diet soda...and literally dying a slow and miserable death.

When she got to Florida March 22, all she had to take was one pill, and that was a pill for the Aspartame poisoning! She is well on her way to a complete recovery. And she is walking!

No wheelchair!

This article saved her life. If it says 'SUGAR FREE' on the label; DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT! I have spent several days lecturing at the WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL CONFERENCE on 'ASPARTAME,' marketed as 'Nutra Sweet,' 'Equal,' and 'Spoonful.'

In the keynote address by the EPA, it was announced that in the United States, in 2001, there was an epidemic of multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus. It was difficult to determine exactly what toxin was causing this to be rampant.

I stood up and said that I was there to lecture on exactly that subject. I will explain why Aspartame is so dangerous:

When the temperature of this sweetener exceeds 86 degrees F, the wood alcohol in ASPARTAME converts to formaldehyde and then to formic acid, which in turn causes metabolic acidosis... Formic acid is the poison found in the sting of fire ants. The methanol toxicity mimics, among other conditions, multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus.

Many people were being diagnosed in error. Although multiple sclerosis is not a death sentence, Methanol toxicity is!

Systemic lupus has become almost as rampant as multiple sclerosis, especially with Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi drinkers.

The victim usually does not know that the Aspartame is the culprit. He or she continues its use; irritating the lupus to such a degree that it may become a life-threatening condition. We have seen patients with systemic lupus become asymptotic, once taken off diet sodas.

In cases of those diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, most of the symptoms disappear. We've seen many cases where vision loss returned and hearing loss improved markedly.

This also applies to cases of tinnitus and fibromyalgia.

During a lecture, I said, 'If you are using ASPARTAME ( Nutra Sweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc. ) and you suffer from fibromyalgia symptoms, spasms, shooting pains, numbness in your legs, Cramps, Vertigo, Dizziness, Headaches, Tinnitis,

Joint pain, Unexplainable depression, anxiety attacks,

slurred speech, blurred vision, or memory loss

you probably have ASPARTAME poisoning!'

People were jumping up during the lecture saying, 'I have some of these symptoms..

Is it reversible?' Yes! Yes! Yes! STOP drinking diet sodas and be alert for Aspartame on food labels!

Many products are fortified with it! This is a serious problem. Dr. Espart (one of my speakers) remarked that so many people seem to be symptomatic for MS and during his recent visit to a hospice; a nurse stated that six of her friends, who were heavy Diet Coke addicts, had all been diagnosed with MS. This is beyond coincidence!

Diet soda is NOT a diet product! It is a chemically altered, multiple SODIUM (salt) and ASPARTAME containing product that actually makes you crave carbohydrates.

It is far more likely to make you GAIN weight!

These products also contain formaldehyde, which stores in the fat cells, particularly in the hips and thighs.

Formaldehyde is an absolute toxin and is used primarily to preserve 'tissue specimens.'

Many products we use every day contain this chemical but we SHOULD NOT store it IN our body!

Dr. H. J. Roberts stated in his lectures that once free of the ' diet products ' and with no significant increase in exercise; his patients lost an average of 19 pounds over a trial period.

Aspartame is especially dangerous for diabetics.

We found that some physicians, who believed that they had a patient with retinopathy, in fact, had symptoms caused by Aspartame. The Aspartame drives the blood sugar out of control.

Thus diabetics may suffer acute memory loss due to the fact that aspartic acid and phenylalanine are NEUROTOXIC when taken without the other amino acids necessary for a good balance.

Treating diabetes is all about BALANCE.

Especially with diabetics, the Aspartame passes the blood/brain barrier and it then deteriorates the neurons of the brain; causing various levels of brain damage, Seizures, Depression, Manic depression,

Panic attacks, Uncontrollable anger and rage.

Consumption of Aspartame causes these same symptoms in non-diabetics as well. Documentation and observation also reveal that thousands of children diagnosed with ADD and ADHD have had complete turnarounds in their behavior when these chemicals have been removed from their diet.

So called 'behavior modification prescription drugs' (Ritalin and others) are no longer needed.

Truth be told, they were never NEEDED in the first place!

Most of these children were being 'poisoned' on a daily basis with the very foods that were 'better for them than sugar.'

It is also suspected that the Aspartame in thousands of pallets of diet Coke and diet Pepsi consumed by men and women fighting in the Gulf War, may be partially to blame for the well known Gulf War Syndrome.

Dr. Roberts warns that it can cause birth defects, i.e., mental retardation, if taken at the time of conception and during early pregnancy.

Children are especially at risk for neurological disorders and should NEVER be given artificial sweeteners.

There are many different case histories to relate of children suffering grand mal seizures and other neurological disturbances talking about a plague of neurological diseases directly caused by the use of this deadly poison.'

Herein lies the problem:

There were Congressional Hearings when Aspartame was included in 100 different products and strong objection was made concerning its use. Since this initial hearing, there have been two subsequent hearings, and still nothing has been done. The drug and chemical lobbies have very deep pockets.

Sadly, MONSANTO'S patent on Aspartame has EXPIRED! There are now over 5,000 products on the market that contain this deadly chemical and there will be thousands more introduced..

Everybody wants a 'piece of the Aspartame pie.'

I assure you that MONSANTO, the creator of Aspartame, knows how deadly it is.

And isn't it ironic that MONSANTO funds, among others, the American Diabetes Association, the American Dietetic Association and the Conference of the American College of Physicians?

This has been recently exposed in the New York Times. These [organizations] cannot criticize any additives or convey their link to MONSANTO because they take money from the food industry and are required to endorse their products.

Senator Howard Metzenbaum wrote and presented a bill that would require label warnings on products containing Aspartame, especially regarding pregnant women, children and infants.

The bill would also institute independent studies on the known dangers and the problems existing in the general population regarding seizures, changes in brain chemistry, neurological changes and behavioral symptoms.

The bill was killed.

My Apologies Big Time

Hi Folks, I am back on line again and with an apology for all those of you who wanted to download my book " Reiki in Times of Crisis" using the Lulu "Buy now" buttons on my website www.reikiroger.com and my blog page. Something went wrong at the Lulu end and a "this product is no longer available" notice would appear (I was wondering why sales were down).

Well, it is very much still available and Lulu have promised to sort out the problem ASAP.

You can easily get the download and the paperback from Lulu and Amazon now. If you have any trouble can you please let me know.

Many thanks to all of you who have bought the book and the lovely things you have said about it. When I wrote it I had a feeling that it might "rattle a few cages" but how wrong can one be.

It seems that the book is more applicable now than when I wrote it…What a changing World we live in.

If I can just say one thing that might sound a bit preachy… Change is what life is really all about, even if at times it may seem a bit scary. Don't buy into the fear thing that is being hiked about so much now (for profit and control). Hang on to your Reiki, it is there to used as much as you want, it won't run out. And remember that you are wonderful. Most of all don't worry . As someone once said "don't worry about life, after all you won't walk away from it alive "

Have fun and love a lot.

Ten silly things to do (with Reiki) before you die

• Go and find a tree, a big old tree. Throw your arms around it
and give it a Reiki hug. Feel it. Don’t care who sees you. Smile
at them and get them to try too.

• Go into Starbucks, or the like, and order the biggest coffee they
do. Have all the bits on it, extra cream and sprinkles. Cup it in
your hands and give it Reiki. Then enjoy it. Don’t feel guilty,
and don’t be sick!

• Go out and buy a big bunch of happy flowers, yellow ones,
sunflowers are good. Then give them to the prettiest girl/handsomest
guy you can find. Don’t feel old. Don’t get arrested!

• Go and take your kids (the older the better) to the beach. Roll
your jeans up to mid-calf and paddle. Lay on the beach, make

Sand Angels and admire the clouds. Do embarrass your kids,
because they’re worth it. Don’t ask for help to get up!

• Go fill in the next five items yourself; they are your silly things
to do after all. Write the list right now, then go out and do them.
Don’t procrastinate! Then let us know what they are ...Please

• Lastly, if you have done all of the above, go and make another
list and then another. If you keep making lists you probably
won’t die anyway. At least, not in the hearts and minds of your
friends, loved ones and your doctor - and that’s enough for me!
Have fun. If you can feel happy then a little bit of everything
else is happy too and you have just lit another candle.

Thank you

Yesterday in my email I received a slide show of Arial photographs from around the world. I was scrolling through, enjoying the lovely images, when I came across one that looked vaguely familiar. It was of a white, burned out shell of a building with a small tower, on top of which were skeleton ribs of the dome roof. The photo was so good that you could see that the ground around it had been cleared and cared for. This was a building that had been left like this for a reason.

From deep within me came a sorrow and as I read the caption this sorrow rose up in an overwhelming tide and I sat there sobbing as I read The
Epicentre Hiroshima.

This one image for some reason touched me. I recognised it from photos of the devastation after the dropping of the atomic bomb but had never seen a photo of it in the present role...

After the sobbing stopped I started checking for other sites on Hiroshima. I found images of the dead, the stats, the lists of the numbers killed. I saw pictures of the totally indiscriminate devastation. Sorrow was replaced with anger and judgement. How could anyone do such a thing? Then I read the postings on the web sites. Small minded idiots, I thought. All the time I was angry, I was judging. How could people not see the total hideousness of this action? Just because terrible things had been done by the Japanese during the war was it right to use this to justify killing on such a large scale? It would be like giving me the right to kill someone's children because their father had killed mine. By now I was off on one. I had used the feeling of sorrow and changed it, it was easier to vent all my frustrations and fears, rather than face the suffering, the suffering that mankind can inflict on his fellow man. Easier than facing the fact that I was part of the species and as such could not escape involvement.

Then I stopped and thought about what I was doing. How I was fuelling the negativity, judging, adding not one positive action, learning nothing. Sometimes the veneer of our civilisation proves a little thin but without it where are we?

So that is why I need your help - not for me but to pour back a little positive energy into this world; to tip the balance just a little. I know that you are already doing this but I need you to do just a little bit more for me. Go and look at a tree, smile at a stranger or buy yourself an extra large, special coffee. If you do this I will not be hurting quite so much.

If, like me, you feel it helps, send out a little of what you do to Hiroshima, to those who suffered and to those who are still suffering - on all sides.

Thanks

How controlled are we?

This morning I awoke earlier than I had hoped and was trying to make up my mind if I could hang on a little longer before I had to get up for a pee, when I had a thought.

Now this might be a little more information than you need at present but it is surprising how often it is that you get interesting and thought provoking ideas during that time when your brain is not fully in gear.

Well, be that as it may, the idea I had and which then kept my attention until the needs of my body demanded my action, was this: I have been going on for ages now that even our most dearly held beliefs have been planted in us and are not there by nature. Often they are left over from some out dated belief system or need, or have been given us by those who have wished to control and use us. Now some of these ideas are good to have, especially if we want to live amongst others, and some are not. They limit us and often cause us distress. But these gut feelings, as we call them, come from somewhere and we can suffer living our lives in their shadows. Now I am not saying sling them out willy nilly, but just to have a look at them? Re-evaluate them and see them for what they are. After all, who told us it was wrong to kill? (I believe this, with my whole heart, to be so.) Anyone for steak?

Well this was nothing new in my thinking, but, what was new for me and I repeat, for me, was how far back should I go with this we are programmed idea… Certainly the three meals a day is programming… Marriages and families? Good and bad?... Right and wrong?... Yes I think these are all good subjects for a long hard look… Love? That's a gritty one…. Life after death? Most certainly, but where did that come from? I don't mean it ain't true, but!! … And then I thought, what about life and death? Well, we have been told that's what happens and it does, doesn't it? Maybe this now is death and when we end this death we… what? Live?

We can take so much for granted and in so doing does it happen and is it therefore true? Dreaming butterflies and all that.

Maybe we live because we are taught that we do and die for the same reason!

Time for breakfast!!! So what? I like breakfast!

This Might Help.

Once you understand love you can see as you should, and you know all there is to know.
But whilst here, it is the journey that matters. If, at the end, there
is nothing, then it doesn’t matter anyway, but the journey will have
been fun. If there happens to be something more, then that’s where
we should be and all is fine. Understanding where our thoughts and
ideas spring from will help us to free ourselves from them; free us
from the fear of this unknown. If there is a guide for living in this
world, it should be to pass through leaving nothing in our wake except
love. We should tread gently and with awareness. We should
recognise ourselves in all living creatures, and in ourselves the wonder
of all creation.
And so Namaste..

The Best Bread Ever

There are few things better for the soul than making bread. One of them is eating it.
This recipe is for flat breads, but makes a great Pizza base and even works well in tins. Can't remember who I pinched it from but thank you.

Flat Breads
Ingredients;
500 g plain flour
150 ml water (blood heat)
28 g dried yeast
70 ml olive oil
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 small tub yoghurt

Dissolve sugar in the water.
¨ Sprinkle yeast into sugar and water mix.
¨ Leave until frothy on top (about 5-10 minutes)
¨ Mix flour and salt together.
¨ Add all wet ingredients.
¨ Mix well and knead until dough is soft and elastic - you might need to
add a little more flour during the kneading process.
¨ Pop into big-ish bowl and cover with damp cloth to rise until dough
doubles in size.
¨ When well risen divide into 8 equal bits and roll out to roughpitta
sizedpieces, about 0.5 cms thick.
¨ Cook, in hot pan (very lightly oiled), on each side until
done.

¨ EAT! Best enjoyed warm.
¨ YOU WILL LOVE THEM!

The Reiki Principles and the Sticky Slope

If you know the Usui story, you will know that Dr. Usui found out, through bitter experience, that it was not enough to cure the physical body to regain true health; you had to go to the root cause. After all, if you have a head ache every morning, after drinking 10 pints of beer the previous evening, taking a handful of Asprin each morning might make the headache go away. But do you know what will be there the following morning? You have to get to the cause for lasting health. The trouble is, the seeming magnitude of most things defeats us before we start.

"I am going to exercise every day and lose weight"! After day one we look at every day and the pounds we have to loose and it is just all too much. The gradient is too steep, every day is too long and four stones is too many biscuits! So we give up.
Dr. Usui recognised this and so he starts each of his principles with the words "Just for today" - a do-able amount . For me and biscuits, today is too long so "Just for now"- this once, I will only have one. I can manage this, and this now is followed by another now, and then another and before I know it I have managed a "Just for today" and then a... "Just for this week" and then.......

Three Most Important Words

There are three words that are probably the most important that you can know and they are… No, not I love you, those are the three words that cause more trouble than any other. The three words are, I don’t know. Once you utter these words you open up the doors of understanding. Say I know and you cut off that understanding at the point of utterance. Try it for yourself in a small way, next time someone asks you if you know this or that, swallow your pride and say no. It is amazing how helpful people can be and sometimes, seeing something with someone else’s eyes helps you realize you were wrong. Mind you, it has never happened to me, though!!!!!

It is really amazing how little we know. In my book I go into this in some depth for I feel that one of the causes of conflict is lack of understanding and this lack comes about when we say I know …So maybe I should have said, Two most important words.

How to get the right answer to any question.

Let’s have something a bit more positive today. Mind you, sometimes a bit of spleen venting is not a bad thing.

Here is something you probably already know: There is a really great way of getting the answer to a question. It doesn’t matter what it is, just something that you need to get right.

Ask the question three times and if it is an important question write the answers down. If you can't be bothered to write the answers down, it can’t be that important.

First ask it of your Mind. Think it out and write down two columns, “For and Against”. Complete the list and put to one side.

Next ask it of your Heart, really ask "what should I do about…?" Get the feel of it, what feels right and what feels wrong. Write this all down too. Have a look at both lists. Anything the same?

Having exhausted all of the physical, mental and emotional resources you have in your arsenal, sit quietly for a moment, and then ask the question of your Higher Self (for lack of a better word.) Just ask it of that bit of you that is connected to everything. Don't write anything down. Now comes the hard bit ... Let Go!... Give it up and trust. The answer is there. All you have to do is hear it. If you try, you won't.

Over the next couples of days the answer will be presented to you.

Now, you have three answers to your question. The choice of which to take is yours. I know which I trust for big jobs!

Just a word of warning and this may sound patronising but I don't mean it to be. You have all the equipment to handle the day to day running of your life. Use the tools suitable for that; your wonderful brain, your experience, your feelings, these are the right tools for the job. It is all too easy to get so involved with the other things that you use them for jobs they are not needed for. I once knew a lady who was so involved with dowsing that she would not make even the simplest decision without the use of her pendulum. Rather then helping her, it was making her life hell.

End of sermon... I beg your forgiveness! He, he, he!

More information on this in my book …Reiki in Times of Crisis… And much more!!!!!! Go on, spoil yourself.

It’s All Pants!

Sorry about my rant of the other day, but sometimes I feel we are living in a world that has lost its way. We create piles of rubbish then spend money and energy recycling it! This then, is promoted as a good thing! A few people make a great deal of money, politicians get great sound bites and we pay. Surly if we didn’t create the rubbish in the first place, it would be better! Don’t recycle, rethink.

We buy new when something is broken because it is cheaper. What happened to repair? Plastic bags are made to degrade but we still have to get rid of them before they do. Electrical goods are disposable and have a built in life expectancy and new cars are made to do things they never will do.

All this new stuff, better stuff, easer stuff does not seem to give us any more time or make us happier. It creates an illusion that we are doing well and to continue to do so we need more of the same. If we are not careful we are suckered into a cycle of dependency and debt. Ever wondered about this money fiasco? I know you have. What’s real about that except the pain?

If you look at it all closely, you see it for what it is; a control system.

We are being controlled.

What do we really need to feel happy and be well?

We need to take back control!

There, I’ve done it once more! Ranting Roger Rides Again!!!!!

Just letting off steam.

Now I know I am a grumpy old fart.....but is it me??? According to Yahoo, see this link http://uk.news.yahoo.com/21/20100322/tuk-seaweed-bread-key-to-obesity-6323e80.html
seaweed is the stuff to eat so we can continue to eat all the fatty, unhealthy junk food and still not get fat. Sell the junk food that make you ill...sell you the drugs that keep you going a little bit longer when you are ill... Sell you stuff that keeps you looking not too bad so you can continue to eat the junk food that makes you ill... so that they can sell you the drugs........|Create the problem, then sell the cure.

I need to lay my head down!!

Spaghetti Control Alert!

Just a quick one. I had a flash of insight yesterday regarding how susceptible to control we all are.
When I was young we had proper spaghetti, long and with hooks on it. If you remember the Spaghetti Harvest you know what I mean. ... I like long spaghetti, it wraps around your fork nicely. If it was too long for your pot you broke it in half. Now all you get is the short stuff. It is more convenient we are told, saves braking it in half. It's pot sized! But I like long spaghetti and it's now hard to find and when you do, it is expensive so I make do.... Then the other day I was walking around the supermarket and it dawned on me. Short spaghetti has nothing to do with my convenience or it fitting into my pot. The thing it fits into is Supermarket Shelves. It is just the right size to stack across a shelf, a supermarket shelf. Why do we let them do this to us?

Reiki Dangers - Part 3

Reiki, first and foremost, is safe. The person receiving a treatment is the one who regulates the flow of Reiki. It goes where it is needed, not by some magical intelligence but because there is a need.
Life is constantly striving for balance. This is why you should not try to force a treatment, to make it happen. All we do is facilitate the healing situation. It is when we try to control, to make things happen, to be powerful, that things can go wrong. Believe me, they can and anyone who has worked with Reiki a great deal will have come across those whose life has not been improved by this wonderful practice.

There are three basic energy sources that we as physical beings use.
First, there is the energy we are born with. This energy is finite and it is used up during our lives. It depletes slowly but there is more than enough to last a life time. We can deplete it faster, but we can't add to it.
Secondly there is the energy we get from food and drink. The energy we get from these is obvious...don't eat or drink and you die. "Simples".
Thirdly there is a rather mystical energy which we get from .... we just seem to get it from the ether. It flows through us and is rather elusive to quantify but evidently it makes up that bit we need but don't get from food and drink.

I am not going into the details of the last two because they are: on the one hand, as I have said before, obvious and, on the other, I know only that what I know!! And that is not enough to expound upon. It is the first I would like to talk about.

When we give a Reiki treatment we allow the Reiki to be drawn through us, we do not give it.
The attunements free this flow and allow us to recognise it. If we try to force the situation we are in very real danger of using our core energy. Do it enough and you weaken yourself. If we allow Reiki to flow through us we pass on a pure energy without our hang-ups and what ever; we cannot pick up the other person's problems and troubles. Use your own energy and there is free flow between persons with no safety. Who benefits from that?
If you don't believe me, we have all had friends who come around to our homes with a problem, when they leave they say "I always feel so much better when I speak to you " and off they bounce. You, on the other hand, are knackered, drained. Know what I mean? Well, now you have Reiki let them take that. The source is inexhaustible.

Be aware of this and all is fine. There is nothing that will happen overnight. But do you really want to lay your trips on someone else? Or take on theirs?
